WHY AIDB

Encyclopedic. Neutral. Always current.

AIDB is not a directory or a marketing site. It's the source of record for the AI industry — cited like a paper, refreshed like a feed.

Freshness, at a glance.

Every profile shows when it was last verified. Green under 30 days, amber under 90, red older. No more reading a year-old valuation as if it were live.

FAQ

Common questions.

What does AIDB actually contain?+
960 company profiles — 28 deep dives and 932 master-list entries — covering valuation, ARR, headcount, funding history, products, models, and the people behind each team. 501 cross-linked people profiles with full filmographies. 21 categories with sortable leaderboards. A daily five-brief newsroom. A weekly-refreshed catalog of the 100 best AI tools.
How is the data kept current?+
Every profile carries a freshness badge: green under 30 days, amber under 90, red older. A research agent built on Claude Sonnet 4.6 with live web search re-researches profiles on a schedule and on demand. Each run parses strict JSON, stores citations, and writes to the changelog.
Where do the facts come from?+
Every factual claim is sourced and cited. Profiles list each citation with domain and date. The newsroom briefs include the source set the editorial agent grounded each story in.
Can I compare companies?+
Yes. Pin any 2–4 companies and AIDB renders a side-by-side compare across valuation, ARR, headcount, funding stage, founding year, and product surface area.
Is AIDB editorial or automated?+
Both. Cron-driven agents handle daily news at 13:00 UTC and weekly tool ratings. An admin can trigger manual refreshes, review the research queue, and inspect every change in an admin-only changelog. AIDB is neutral and encyclopedic — not investment advice, not a directory.
Is there an API?+
A public read-only JSON endpoint for the master list and category leaderboards is on the roadmap. Full programmatic access is planned for AIDB Pro.
